Okay, so I usually never get so obsessed with makeup. If I do, it's never a whole entire makeup line - it's always one or two products that I like. Does that make sense? The last time I was ever this obsessed and insistent about buying something was the Naked Palette by Urban Decay which I have been using diligently ever since I got my hands on it.
Anyway, on to the real point. Can I just vent how much I LOOOOVE the Revlon Lip Butters?!?!
I always make at least two trips to my local CVS every week (I know, I know. Strange, right? But they always sell the best candy, drugstore makeup, toiletries, etc.) so when I walked in one day, I saw a rack displaying the new lip butters. Back then I didn't know what the hype was about so I just bought the shade in 'Peach Parfait'. It was around $8 which is still a bit pricey for a drugstore lipstick (in my humble opinion) so I bought one. Just to be safe, of course.
And then...that was it. It was over. I was in love with it.
Moisturizing
What I dearly love about Revlon's Lip Butters is that it does a great job moisturizing. Gone are the days when I always have to remember to apply lipbalm before applying lipstick because my lips get ridiculously chapped. When it comes to chapped lips, I was pretty much Queen of Chappy-ness.
Not that I'm hating on lipbalm or anything...but when you apply lipbalm before lipstick, I always feel that the lipstick isn't 'sticking' to the lips correctly and I end up wasting the product. I can't describe it well and you can understand either unless you actually try out the duo yourself.
But alas, killing two birds with one stone?! Bravo, Revlon!
I do have to admit it doesn't work as well as a regular lipbalm when it comes to moisturizing, but it's all good. :)
Packaging
It's not the best packaging out there when you're comparing it to Chanel, Dior, etc. And it probably never will be because it's only worth $8. But for $8, the packaging is FABULOUS!!!
I know there are currently many different versions of drugstore "Lip Butters" from other makeup lines such as Maybelline and L'Oreal, but none of the packaging appeals to me as much as the Revlon Lip Butters. It's stylish, cute, fashionable, and something that I would enjoy taking out of my bag (purposely) in public to dab an extra coat of lip butter on. Ironically, I'm not very high maintenance so I don't like to reapply makeup every couple of hours - so when great packaging makes a customer feel this way, then it's a success. It's a 10!
So there you go. It's not much of a review as it is a rant/ode about it. That is my love story right there. :)
